PAIN

Pain is an interesting phenomenon.  I say that because it can be the result of both a physical disfunction and/or a mentally induced cause.  What started out as a physical pain may translate into something we feel because we anticipate feeling it.

When we have pain we are faced with a decision.  We can acknowledge the pain, modify our activity accordingly and continue physical activity without overthinking the mental aspect of the pain.  The other choice we have when faced with sudden pain is to catastrophise the situation, assume the worst case scenario and immobilize ourselves.

The second choice almost always results in prolonged pain and shorter recoveries.  The first choice usually results in shorter recovery and a more positive outlook as to the subject's future condition.

We aren’t saying to ignore INJURY, but rather examine your mindset when faced with the sudden pains we all experience as active people.
