Have you ever pushed so hard in a high intensity workout that you felt like a car that was approaching the red line on the tachometer? 

We believe that for most people it's beneficial to push this hard sometimes.  You need to know your body and it's ability to recover from intense workouts though.  If you can hit it hard 3x per week and not have any residual effects, than go for it! But if you're having pain, trouble sleeping, fatigue or anxiety, you might include those redline workouts less often with more recovery days or less intense workouts in between.  

The bottom line is, listen to your body.  Ending up injured will only keep you sidelined.
