We faced the ultimate relationship test
13 days until we’re homeless.
If you missed it, we’re giving up the house we’ve rented for the last four years to live, work, and travel full-time in our Airstream.
Going from 2,700 square feet to 27 linear feet of living space means hard cuts and moving our must-keep and can’t-get-rid-of items into storage
Just about everything is gone—except our bed, two chairs by the TV, a couple of lamps, and the table I’m writing this email from.
With so much cleared out, it’s echoey in here, and the dogs are quite confused, y’all.
The process of going through every single item we own, and physically moving it into storage has been made me incredibly proud and grateful for my wife Blakley.
Saturday we moved our 7’ long, 200-pound vintage couch out the door, across the deck, and into the trailer, only to have to do it all in reverse at the storage unit.
The weekend before we managed to push, pull, and slide a disagreeable king-sized mattress that wanted nothing more than to turn into a taco through the entire house, down the porch, and into the trailer.
Let me tell you—it was the kind of task that will test any marriage
I’m grateful and proud because Blakley is capable and willing to do any hard physical task with me.
I couldn’t do it on my own, and not every wife is willing to get their hands dirty.
She’s not just strong—she’s smart, kind, and has ten times the emotional awareness of yours truly.
She’s also the real brains behind Digital Barbell.
If you know her or you’re lucky enough to have been coached by her in the past or present I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.
She never wants any of the credit, so I’ll probably get in trouble when she sees this email, but so be it.
You’re the best, babe. I had no idea how strong you were when I said “I do” almost 23 years ago.
Thanks for letting me brag friends.
Lift heavy, and be nice.
Jonathan
