Should You Weigh and Measure Your Food?

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES

Have you seen those weirdos that weigh and measure what they eat with a little scale?!?!

Yeah, that’s us.  Not always, but we do it, and maybe you should to.

If you’ve eliminated foods from your diet that you know you shouldn’t be eating, you’re getting enough sleep, managing your stress and still aren’t seeing progress in the mirror or on the scale, you might want to start weighing and measuring.

Even if you’ve “counted calories” before, it’s shocking how hard it is to guesstimate how much is actually in a serving.  Things like peanut butter, dressings, chips, cereal, rice etc are notoriously difficult.

Pick up a cheap digital food scale somewhere.  We use an amazon basics model.  Once you have your scale I would recommend just weighing some of your higher calorie foods until you get used to the process. It can be daunting to jump in 100% to weighing and measuring everything.

How much you weigh and measure is really dependent on how accurately you want to hit your goals.  If you’re super serious about fat loss you might want to weigh everything that you eat.

We recommend measuring as many things as you can in grams and ounces vs using measuring cups and tea/tablespoons. It’s more accurate.
