THE MAKING OF A MEAL
Our Dinner
Hold on to your hats! It’s dinner time! We eat this meal (or something very close) almost every night.
Ingredients:
Raw Kale
Salad Mix
Ground Turkey (half 99% half 94%)
White Rice
Nutritional Yeast
Bolthouse Yogurt Salad Dressing
Salsa (Blakley) - Franks Red Hot (Jonathan)
We brown 2 pounds of turkey every couple days and use that throughout the week. We also precook a few cups of rice early in the week so we don’t have to mess with that each night.
We start by putting the pre-cooked turkey and rice into a frying pan and heating it up. While that’s going we rip up a few handfuls of kale in to smaller pieces and cover the plate with it. Then we put a few cups of pre-made salad mix on top of the kale.
By then the meat and rice mixture is ready to put on top of the lettuce. We put the nutritional yeast on top of the meat and then on top of that goes a serving of dressing and either the salsa or red hot.
That’s it! It’s fast, filling, delicious and helps us reach our nutritional goals.
