IT STARTS WITH Nutrition Part 2
HOW TO BEGIN
Last week we took a look at the theoretical hierarchy of development of an athlete and discovered that it all starts with nutrition. Even as gym owners, we realize that you cannot out-train a bad diet. The journey toward dialing in your nutrition can seem daunting but it doesn’t have to be. In the next few weeks we will lay out a solid plan to get you going in the right direction.
STEP 1: Limit or eliminate empty calories.
Some examples are: Sodas and Starbucks drinks, smoothies, excessive alcohol, candy and desserts. For example, there are 240 calories in a Grande Frappuccino. That is a lot. Instead, opt for things like teas, black coffee, calorie free flavored waters or just plain water.
Tacking step 1 will considerably reduce the number of calories AND grams of sugar you are consuming daily. Small changes done over a long time yields amazing results.
