We’re hypocrites. We encourage you to eat whole foods as much as possible and to shop around the perimeter of the grocery store, but we have a confession. We eat snack bars. Pretty much daily.
They are just so darn convenient and delicious. We do try and be smart about it though, and we want you to do the same. Our favorite bars are RX Bars and Larabars. Not just because they are delicious, but because all of the ingredients are easy to pronounce and are real food!
RX Bars are particularly good because they are made with egg whites that give them a nice protein boost.
If you’re going to eat snack bars, stick with ones not full of artificial colors and sweeteners. Make sure you recognize the ingredients and make them fit into your overall nutrition plan.
