With all of the focus on carbs, protein and fat these days, it's not uncommon for fiber to be left out of the nutrition conversation.

That's a mistake!  Fiber is important for normal digestion and bowel function, it aids in blood sugar regulation, may lower cholesterol and can aid in fat loss.

There are two main kinds of fiber. Soluble (dissolves in water) fiber is found in foods like apples, oats, beans and citrus and Insoluble (does not dissolve in water) fiber which is found in whole grains, vegetables and potatoes.
