Novice, Advanced, & Elite Strength Standards

You already know the value of being stronger or else you wouldn’t have clicked on this article.

You know that being strong gives you more energy and confidence, makes you look better naked, and makes you more capable for life.

In theory, the longer you’ve been training, the stronger you should be. Of course, your genetics and the training program you follow also play a massive role in your progress.

If you’re trying to get stronger but it’s not working, we can help.

The most common way strength is measured is by testing your “1 Rep Max”. This is the number of pounds you can lift 1 time in an all-out effort. If you could have done another rep, it’s not a 1 rep max. If your buddy “gives you a spot”, it’s not a 1 rep max. If you can’t do the full range of motion for the exercise, it’s not a 1 rep max.

Today we’ll use your body weight and a multiplier to see where your current strength stacks up.

We’ll focus on the Novice, Advanced, and Elite standards for strength.
