PEANUT BUTTER POWDER 101
Today we are discussing peanut butter powder and how it compares to regular peanut butter along with how to make it, how to use it… and why.
We use peanut butter powder not as a substitute for peanut butter because we are against fat but rather so that we can eat more food and more food with fat.
Calories
Peanut butter is high in calories. One serving is 190 calories and that’s not a lot of peanut butter. I would say an average PB+J could contain 2 - 4 servings. If I heart peanut butter but don’t want to use a large chunk of my caloric intake on one food source, peanut butter powder allows me to still eat a food I enjoy and eat more overall food. WIN WIN.
Fat
Peanut butter is high in fat. One serving is 16g of Fat. Double or quadruple this and I’ve hit my quota for the day fo sho. By reducing the fat in my peanut butter I can still have meat, salad dressing or oil, butter, avocado, nuts, seeds… throughout my day.
A comparison:
1 serving of Jiff
190 Caloires, 16 Fat, 8 Carbohydrates, 7 Protein
2 servings of Powered PB:
70 Calories, 2 Fat, 4 Carbohydrates, 8 Protein
Now sit back and enjoy the sweet sights and sounds of Jonathan making a serving of powdered peanut butter.
